Red Ribbon Week

Next week begins RED RIBBON WEEK (Oct. 28th - 31st). We will have spirit days on:

Monday, Oct. 28th (Rally in Red Against Drugs and Bullying - wear RED)   

Tues, Oct. 29th (Use Your Head - Make Good Choices - come to school with CRAZY HAIR or with a CRAZY HAT)

Wed. Oct. 30th (Dream BIG - wear PAJAMAS) 

Thurs. Oct. 31st (Say BOO to Drugs - wear ORANGE AND BLACK)

Veterans Day

Hi Parents!
Veterans Day is around the corner and Spoede will be having an assembly in honor of all our heroes on November 11th at 2pm in the Spoede gym.  If you or any relatives are serving or have served in the military, we would love to invite you to come to this special celebration.  To prepare for the assembly, we are encouraging students to send in photographs of Veterans in their family.  But please do not send in original photographs as they will not be returned.  Thank you for your help in making our Veterans day special!

National Character Day

Once again, the Ladue School District is commemorating National Character Day on September 26. The district-wide theme is 'High-Tech Character at Ladue' and the focus is on the relationship between technology and character. At Spoede, the Character Education Committee decided our focus would be "Reclaim Joy" and we're asking  kids to consider "unplugging" for 30 minutes the weekend after Character Day 9/27-9/29.

We've discussed the theme as a class, and even brainstormed some ways we could "unplug" during the long weekend.  We'd love to see how you and your family applied the theme, so if you could snap a quick picture and send it in, we'd love to display the different ways our Spoede Turtles "unplugged" this upcoming weekend.
