Summer Learning

I am forwarding a Parent Resources link provided by the reading and math specialists that includes reading and math support for your child's continuing learning opportunities this summer.

"The reading and math specialists have put together videos to help parents support their children in reading and math over the summer.  The reading videos demonstrate how to find a 'just right' book, how to engage your child while they are reading, how to support your child when they are stuck and more.  The math videos focus on fun math games that help reinforce number sense and fluency.  Here is the direct link to the Parent Academy page on the Distance Learning website.  (Parent Resources) ..."

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is this week in the library. Since the theme of the Book Fair is the jungle, we are encouraging all of the teachers and students to wear animal prints on Tuesday.  Also, don't forget to join us for the Drive-in Movie Night in the gym on Tuesday at 6 pm.  We will be showing the movie, The Jungle Book.  You will have the opportunity to shop at the Book Fair before, during, and after the movie.

MLK Service Project

Dear Spoede Families,
We need your help! This year we are collecting items for Every Child’s Hope. This organization runs a gift shop called HopE CHest, which allows young people to select gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Birthdays, Graduations....and Holidays.

Review the enclosed list of donations and please note that the items must be new.

Please place all items for the “gift shop” in the boxes that will be located in the front and gym foyer as well as the barrel in front of Mrs. Ward’s classroom. We will be collecting items NOW through Friday, January 17th.

Welcome our new ESOL TA- Mrs. Arosteguy

Mrs. Arosteguy is coming from Indiana with a background in Special education and Elementary education. She has been teaching for 27 years. Please welcome her to Spoede. We are so lucky to have her.
